摘要

Abstract

Based on rice genome annotations, 437 known pre-miRNAs in rice were analyzed. As a result, 98 pre-miRNAs (- 22%) overlapped with protein coding gene and 69 (~16%) of them located in intronic regions, namely intronic microRNAs (in-miRNAs). Through Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment a-nalysis of target genes of these in-miRNAs, it is suggested that in-miRNAs significantly down-regulated genes involved in biological processes such as protein amino acid phosphorylation, DNA integration, proteolysis, homoiothermy and defense response. Finally, integration function analysis of both host genes and target genes revealed that targets genes of 4 in-miRNAs could participate in biological processes in which host genes involved. We conclude in-miRNAs could play a synergistic or antagonistic role to repress or promote their host genes in common biological processes shared by target genes and host genes.
