摘要

Abstract

On the basis of dissecting the existing definition of the water environmental capacity ( WEC) and pointing out its defects , a new understanding on WEC, which emphasizes the dynamic characteristics of it, is given herein; and then the difference between WEC and its connotations of the relevant concepts is analyzed as well. Furthermore, the method for calculating WEC based on various design hydrological conditions is put forward in accordance with the analysis made on the general method concerned. Moreover, a case study is made by taking Taizihe River Basin as an actual case; from which the result can provide a technical support to the water environment management of the basin.
