Expression and Significance of Visfatin in the Course of the Development of NAFLD
摘要
Abstract
In order to explore its role in the course of the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the expressions of Visfatin in serum and liver tissues in rats were studied. The rat model of NAFLD was established with high fat diet. The serum level of Visfatin were detected by enzyme linked im-munosorbent assay (ELISA). The expression of Visfatin protein and mRNA were measured with immunohisto-chemical staining method and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) respectively. Visfatin present an pattern of "high-low" in terms of degree of expression not only in liver tissues but also in serum during the progression of simple steatosis (SS) to non-alcoholic steatosis hepatitis (NASH). The serum level of Visfatin in SS group was higher than control group and NASH group (P<0.01). There were no significant differences between control group and NASH group. The cells of Visfatin protein expression mainly distributed around cetral vein in hepatic lobule which appear mild steatosis. The high expression of Visfatin in serum and liver tissues is an early event, which suggests that Visfatin might play an important role in the development of NAFLD.关键词
