摘要

Abstract

Objective To study the effects of Vinca minor linn extraction (VMLE) on the hemorheology and antioxidant capacity in rats with experimental cerebral ischemia. Methods Rat models with middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) were made by Zea-Longa traditional method. Then the scores of behavior were evaluated in MCAO rats by Bederson method. All the rat models were randomly divided into 4 groups: model group, nimodipine group, VMLE high and low dose groups (10 g/kg and of 5 g/kg of VMLE ) , and sham group. Rats in each group received corresponding drugs by gavage for 2 days. The hemorheology and antioxidant capacity of rats were detected 48 hours later. Results Blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit,erythrocyte aggregation index, erythrocyte rigidity index, and level of MDA were significantly decreased and SOD and GSH-PX activity were enhanced in VMLE high and low dose groups (P < 0;05 ) ; Nimodipine could enhance SOD and GSH-PX activity and decrease the level of MDA, but couldn't affect the blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, and hematocrit. Conclusion VMLE can significantly improve hemorheology and antioxidant capacity in rats with cerebral ischemia.
