Expressions of angiopoietin 1 and 2 in the placenta of women with placenta adherence during induced abortion in the mid-trimester of pregnancy

Abstract
Objective To investigate the relation of placenta adherence with the expressions of angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) and Ang-2 in placenta in the mid trimester of pregnancy. Methods 61 women with 13-24 weeks of gestation who wanted to terminate pregnancy in our hospital were divided into 2 groups; Group A received the induced abortion with intra-amniotic injection of rivanol (n = 40) and Group B received cystic method (n = 21). The expressions of Ang-1 and Ang-2 were assayed by immunohistochemical staining, then the relation of expression of placenta adherence with the expressions of Ang-1 and Ang-2 was analyzed. Results The rates of placenta adherence were 50% and 47.26% in Group A and B(P ＞ 0.05). The expression of Ang-1 was higher in women with placenta adherence than those without (P ＜ 0.05), while the expression of Ang-2 was on the contrary (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusions The placenta adherence after induced abortion in mid-trimester of pregnancy may be related to the higher expression of Ang-1, the lower expression of Ang-2, and the change of Ang-1 /Ang-2 ratio.关键词
