Abstract
By exploiting the banded symmetric and Toeplitz matrix model for the mutual coupling of uniformly linear array (ULA), an ESPRIT-based target localization and mutual coupling self-calibration algorithm is proposed for bistatic MIMO radar. The 2-dimensional (2-D) angles and mutual coupling parameters can be decoupled by smart choosing of subarrays for the ESPRIT method, and favorable 2-D angle estimation can be provided without the knowledge of the sensor mutual coupling matrix. Based on the estimated 2-D angles, an accurate estimation of the mutual coupling matrix can also be achieved for the self-calibration of bistatic MIMO radar. The 2-D angles estimation and mutual coupling estimation could be completed without any angle-searching and iterative procedure, so its computational burden is low. The correction and efficiency of the proposed algorithm are verified by the computer simulation results.关键词
