Abstract
Objective To discuss the correlation between the level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and TNM staging of gastric cancer. Methods ELISA method and immunohistochemical method were used to detect the expression levels of VEGF with different infiltrating degrees (Tis - T4) , different lymph node metastasis degrees ( NO - N3 ) , and different far metastasis ( MO - Ml ) in 158 cases of gastric cancer. And the correlation was analyzed. Results The level of serum VEGF increased along with the infiltrating degree, and the correlation was significant (r =0.879, P<0.01 ). The level significantly increased along with the increase of lymph node metastasis degree (r = 0. 834, P < 0. 01) , and the correlation was significant. The level at M0 was significantly lower than that at Ml, and there was a significant correlation between the two ones (r =0.627 , P <0.01) . Likewise the VEGF level in the gastric cancer tissues was significantly correlated with the infiltrating degree, lymph node metastasis, and far metastasis ( P < 0. 01). Conclusion The expression level of VEGF in serum or gastric cancer tissues increases along with the augmentation of infiltrating, lymph node metastasis, and far metastasis degrees. The detection of VEGF may predict the TNM staging of gastric cancer.关键词
