Analysis of Ethylene Oxide Residue Level of Sterilized Medical Supplies with Different Raw Materials

Abstract
Objective To ensure the safe use of medical supplies after sterilization by ethylene oxide by monitoring the amount of ethylene oxide residues of the different materials at the same time. Methods The compression hemostasis cuff, thread ventilator tube and silicone tube were selected as the experimental materials. Ethylene oxide sterilization was performed after packaging the supplies with paper plastic materials, and then parallel sampling and residue level analysis by meteorological chromatography were executed. Results The supplies had different residue levels after ethylene oxide sterilization, of which, compression hemostasis cuff made of cotton could absorb ethylene oxide strongly and was not fit for ethylene oxide sterilization. Conclusion To analyze the residue level of ethylene oxide is very important for the safety of the sterilized medical supplies.关键词
