摘要

Abstract

When lightning strikes at transmission line, the lightning waves will go into the substations along the transmission lines and have great harmful effect on the equipment. In China, the design of equipment lightning insulation often ignores the effect of impulse corona on transmission lines. As the impulse corona could lead great attenuation and distortion to the lightning waves, the margins of the traditional designs are great. In this paper, series experiments were carried out in China UHV AC test base and Q-V characteristic curves of different conductors were got. Results show that as the number of bundle conductors increases, the corona inception voltages increase. The positive impulse corona occurs a little time later than the lightning impulse voltage exceeds the corona inception voltages. In the end of this paper, a corona model based on the test results that could be used in electromagnetic transient calculation software is proposed.
