Abstract
Objective To evaluate the relationship between CYP17 T - 34C genetic polymorphisms and prostate cancer risk by Meta analysis. Methods By searching database including EMBase, PubMed, Ovid, Highwire Press, CNKI, CBM, and WANFANG, we collected literature on CYP17 T-34C single neucleotide polymorphisms and prostate cancer susceptibility. The odds ratios ( OR ) of variant allele of CYP17 T - 34C and publication bias was calculated using Review Manager 4. 2 software. Results A total of 4, 832 cases and 4, 736 controls from studies for Caucasian and a total of 750 cases and 1 033 controls from studies for eastern Asians were included in 19 studies. For Caucasian the pooled OR was 0. 91 [ 95% CI ( 0. 84, 0. 99 ) ] and 0. 95 [ 95% CI ( 0. 85, 1. 07 ) ] for the dominant and recessive models, respectively. For east Asians, the pooled OR was 1. 06 [ 95% CI ( 0. 84, 1. 34 ) ] and 1. 05 [ 95% CI ( 0. 85 , 1. 29 ) ] for the dominant and recessive models, respectively. Conclusion CYP17 CC and TC allele may be a protective factor for prostate cancer in Caucasians.关键词
