Geographic Routing Protocol Using Network Coding for Three-Dimensional Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks

Abstract
Considering the characteristics of low data delivery ratio and high energy consumption in underwater acoustic sensor networks ( UWASNs), this paper presents a geographic routing protocol using network coding ( GROUND) for UWASNs. GROUND chooses candidate nodes according to the neighbors'geographic location during the process of routing and uses network coding for data delivery. This method ensures that packets can be correctly and efficiently forwarded and reduces the retransmission of redundant packets that causes additional network energy consumption. Simulation results show that GROUND achieves relatively high packet delivery ratio with low energy consumption.关键词
