Quality Evaluation of Different Remote Sensing Image Fusion Method

Abstract
In recent years, with the rapid development of remote sensing, multi-source remote sensing data is becoming more and more. How to make full use of these massive data is a hot topic. At the same time, evaluating the quality of fusion image which makes integration process optimized is also an essential part. This paper made use of ERDAS software, and respectively used Brovey transform method, IHS transform method, high-pass filter method and the principal component analysis to fuse images. Subjective evaluation was made in the fusion images. Quantitative evaluation of fusion image was completed by extracting quantitative evaluation index the mean, standard deviation, average gradient, information entropy, correlation coefficient from fusion images with Matlab program. In the end, the fusion image was compared and analyzed to draw the following conclusion: fusion image of principal component analysis in the spectral characteristics is the best, brovey transform method in the preservation of information and clarity is better than the other fusion methods, fusion image of IHS transform method has the best correlation with the original image.关键词
