摘要

Abstract

The oxidation of phenol by potassium persulfate activated with heat and transition metal ion (Fe2+) was investigated. The degradation efficiencies of phenol and COD were 50% and 45% when the ratio of potassium persulfate to phenol was 0. 50 heating at 100 ℃ for 3 h. When temperature was at below 30℃ phenol cannot be degraded. Compared with potassium persulfate activated by heat alone, the addition of Fe2+ can enhance the degradation efficiencies of phenol and COD which was increased by 11% and 8% at 100℃ , respectively. In the whole reaction system, pH had a great impact on the degradation efficiencies of phenol. It was demonstrated that potassium persulfate produce more sulfate free radicals in acid conditions, so as to achieve the better removal efficiency.
