Abstract

Based on typical over frequency phenomena occurred in insolated power grids home and abroad, the characteristics of frequency instability in isolated power network due to fault-caused power grid separation are analyzed. According to the differences of measures to cope with the problem, the research on over frequency in isolated power network is divided into three categories: the first one gives the three-layer security and stability control measures composed of cascaded trip-out, over-frequency trip out and over-speed protection of steam turbine to solve the over frequency in isolated power network in macroscopic level; based on the research on the modeling of over-speed protection controller (OPC) of steam turbine and the reverse analysis of the fault causing power grid separation, the second one discusses the method to cope with the over frequency phenomenon in isolated power network by adjusting the setting of OPC flexibly; based on the primary frequency regulation characteristics of generators, the third one proposes the strategy, which eases the lower limit of primary frequency regulation and utilizes the frequency deviation corrective loop in primary frequency regulation, to cope with over frequency phenomenon in isolated power network. Finally, the defects in existing methods to cope with over frequency in isolated pgwer network shortage are pointed out and the problems to be further researched in future are proposed.
