Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of the lactase preparations for treatment of secondary lactose intolerance caused by diarrhea in infants and young children. Methods: The urine samples of children with diarrhea were detected by urine galactose assay kit. According to the sequence of admission number, children with positive results were randomly divided into a lactase preparations intervention group and a control groups by using a random number table. The control group received conventional therapy ( gastrointestinal mucosal protective agents, probiotics, prevention or correction dehydration, and appropriate antibiotic therapy); on the basis of conventional therapy, the lactase preparations intervention group received lactase orally, with warm water 5 minutes before feeding. Clinical efficacy and the duration of diarrhea were assessed. Results: The total effective rate of the lactase preparations intervention group and the control group was 90.63% and 57.14% respectively; the difference was statistically significant x2 =8.93, P<0.01). The duration of diarrhea of the intervention group [(3.25±1.87) days] was shorter than that of the control group [(4.61±2.07) days] ; the difference was statistically significant (t = 2. 67, P<0. 01). Conclusions: The efficacy of the lactase preparations to treat infantile secondary lactose intolerance cause by diarrhea was significant effective. It does not change the diet of the sick children, and is good for the normal growth and development of the sick children, which has clinical value.关键词
