Abstract
The γ-ray and 241 Am-Be neutron shielding performance of Boron Polyethylene and Lead-Boron Polyethylene were tested in lab, and then had the testing processes simulated by MCNP. The result shows that the simulated values confirmed well with the tested values. The tested liner attenuation coefficients of Lead-Boron Polyethylene against 60Co and 137Cs γ-ray are 0. 212 cm-1 and 0. 381 cm-1, and the simulated liner attenuation coefficients are 0. 209 cm-1 and 0. 370 cm-1. The tested and simulated neutron cross-sections of Boron Polyethylene are 0. 197 cm-1 and 0. 193 cm-1, and the tested and simulated neutron cross-sections of Lead-Boron Polyethylene are 0. 181 cm-1 and 0. 173 cm-1 respectively. It is indicated that Lead-Boron Polyethylene is a good material for neutron and γ-ray shielding, and the shielding performance can be simulated using MCNP.关键词
