Abstract
Objective To assess effects of three different concentrations of carbamide peroxide on the surface roughness of dental porcelain. Methods Surface roughness of 80 ceramic blocks were measured by a surface roughness tester, and then were randomly divided into four groups; group A were bleached with 10% carbamide peroxide eight hours per day; group B were bleached with 15% carbamide peroxide eight hours per day; group C were bleached with 20% carbamide peroxide eight hours per day; group D were soaked in artificial saliva as a blank control group. The first three groups were bleached for 3 weeks. Ceramic blocks surface roughness were measured at time points of 1 d,2d,3d, 1 w, 2 w, 3 w. Results There were no significant difference (P >0.05) of ceramic blocks surface roughness among the four groups. Conclusion Bleaching with 10% , 15% or 20% carbamide peroxide for three weeks have no obvious adverse effects on dental porcelain surface.关键词
