摘要
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of statins vs. placebo in the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Methods: Randomized controlled trials were collected. The trials concerning the comparison efficacy of statins vs. placebo in patients with AD, have been searched in the electronic bibliographic databases. Meta-analysis was conducted based on the methods recommended by the Cochrane Collaboration. Results: A total of 4 clinical trials were included in the meta-analysis, and 1127 patients in total were randomly assigned into statins group (557 cases) and placebo group (570 cases). Comparing the parameters between the Statins and placebo groups, the overall mean difference were 0. 97 [95%CI (-0. 84, 2. 78)] for the change in Alzheimer's disease assessment scale-cognitive (ADAS-Cog) from baseline, 0. 88[95%CI(-0. 28, 2.04)] for in mini-mentalstate examination (MMSE) from baseline, -0. 85 [95% CI (-3. 50, 1. 80)] for activities of daily living (ADD from baseline, and -1. 41[95%CI (-3. 47,0. 65)] for neuropsychiatric inventory (NPI) from baseline. Conclusion-. There is insufficient evidence to recommend statins for the treatment of AD.关键词
