Abstract
Heavy metal chelating agent(HMCA) was synthesized using diethylenetriamine(DETA), CS2, epichlorohydrin and NaOH as raw materials, and was characterized by FTIR. The morphology and composition of the chelate product were investigated by SEM and electron spectroscopy. The FTIR spectrum indicates that the -CSS- group has been linked with the HMCA molecule successfully. When HMCA is used in the treatment of chromium-plating wastewater, it can form a stable chelate product with Cr3+. The results of electron spectroscopy analysis show that the mole ratio of S to Cr in the chelate product is 4.097 : 1, which is close to the theoretical value, and the formation of the chelate product is according to n(-CSS-) : n(Cr+)= 2:1. Under the optimum conditions of pH 8.5 and HMCA dosage 8.52 g/L, the Cr3+ removal rate is 99.94% of and the residual Cr3+ mass concentration is 0.16 mg/L.关键词
