Study on the Effect of Biosorbent of Agricultural and Forestry Waste to Adsorb Copper Ion from Wastewater

摘要

Abstract

In order to understand the adsorption ability of agricultural and forestry waste,four materials including apple peel,melon seeds shell,residues of tea and leaves of the phoenix tree were collected to test their ability to adsorb copper ion from wastewater. The influencing factors of pH,contact time,adsorbent dosage and modified method were investigated by static adsorption test in the laboratory. The results indicated that the equilibrium could be achieved within 60 to 80 min. Adsorption ability to Copper ion of four kinds of biosorbents was significantly affected by the pH in the wastewater. The best pH range was 5 — 6 in this experiment. All of the four biosorbents modified had strong capacity to adsorb copper ion, and the order of the adsorption capacity was the leaves of the phoenix tree> melon seeds shell> apple peel> residues of tea. The biosorbents modified can improve their adsorption capacity to Copper ion. Agricultural and forestry waste as a low-cost adsorbent can be used in production practice.
