摘要

Abstract

Some typical kinds of PCD and PCBN compacts were selected to be machined by LS-WEDM, a series of processing tests were taken. After machining, the surface roughness of cutting section, the machining quality of cobalt-rich interface layer and the edge of superhard material layer were observed by 3D optical surface profiler and optical microscope. The results showed that machining quality was affected by superhard abrasive particle size and concentration greatly, a better machining quality could be obtained after several processes of LS-WEDM; The minimum grinding allowance of PCD cutting tools can be controlled within 4-15 μm after LS-WEDM, and within 10 |xm for PCBN BNX20, while BZN6000 needs a large follow-up workload of sharpening.
