摘要

Abstract

Based on the survey data of three signalized intersections with widened dual left-turn lanes in Beijing, traffic characteristics and capacity of left-turn lanes at signalized intersections were studied by using statistical methods. It shows that the saturated discharge rate of left-turn lanes passes through two phases. By considering the characteristics, a theoretic n odel for capacity was developed. Finally, the model was validated by using simulation data. It is concluded that the proposed model provides more accurate results compared with the HCM model.
