Abstract
Purpose To investigate the expression of HER-2, MT1-MMP and CD147 in gastric carcinoma and to find out their correlations with the biologic behaviors of the tumor. Methods HER-2, MT1-MMP and CD147 proteins were detected by immunohistochemi-cal staining in 10 cases of normal gastric tissue and 178 cases of gastric carcinoma. Results All of the expression level of HER-2, MT1-MMP and CD147 protein in gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in normal gastric tissues ( P <0. 05 ). The expression of them in the subgroup of poorly-differentiated with serosal invasion and lymph nodes metastasis was significantly higher than the other subgroup of well-differentiated without serosal invasion and lymph nodes metastasis ( P <0. 01 ). And the expression of HER-2 protein in the esophagogastric junction was higher than in the stomach. There was a positive correlation trend between the expression of HER-2 and MT1-MMP protein in gastric carcinoma, but without significant difference, with Pearson coefficient of 0. 301 ( P = 0.05 ). The positive correlation was found between CD147 and MT1-MMP protein in gastric carcinoma, with Pearson coefficient 0. 887 ( P <0. 01 ). Conclusions Over-expression of HER-2, MT1-MMP and CD147 is detected in gastric carcinoma, with close relationships of HER-2 and CD147 with MT1-MMP, which suggests that all the three proteins may be involved in the invasiveness and metastasis of gastric carcinoma.关键词
