Abstract
[ Objective ] To explore the pattern and impact factors of workplace violence (WPV) towards nurses in tertiary general hospitals in a selected city. [ Methods ] Questionnaires were completed by participants to examine prevalence and influence of WPV against nurses as well as attitudes and preventive measures taken by the employers. [ Results ] During the past one year, 63.0% nurses investigated suffered from WPV. Working departments, strong support, putting a premium on nurse, encouraging WPV reporting, routine security patrolling, and fixed seats in waiting rooms were the leading impact factors of WPV. [ Conclusion ] Nurses' experience of WPV is a prevalent phenomenon in tertiary general hospitals in the city investigated. It is urgent for hospital administration to raise attention to WPV and reduce the related risk.关键词
