Abstract

[ Objective ] To establish a method for the simultaneous determination of 5 pyrethroids in source water or drinking water, I.e. Fenpropathrin, cyhalothrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate, and permethrin, using solid phase extraction combined with high performance liquid chromatography. [ Methods ] The water samples were extracted and condensed with solid-phase extraction using C18 cartridges and eluted by isopropanol. Separation was carried out on a Waters Sunfire C18 column, using acetonitrile and water as mobile phase gradient model at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min, with detective wavelength at 205 nm. Quantification was calculated by an external standard method. [ Results ] The linear range of proposed determination methodology was 0.0-5.0 mg/L. The minimum detectable concentration was 0.025-0.050 μg/L. The recoveries were between 88.0% and 102.2% with a relative standard deviation in the range of 1.0%-3.8%. [ Conclusion ] The method is sensitive, accurate, and applicable to detect the trace pyrethroid residues in source water and drinking water.
