Abstract

The performance of parallel-flow type condenser using R22 and alternative refrigerant R410a respectively under different outdoor condition was compared. A mathematic model of steady distributed parameters is established to compare the performance of heat transfer and flow of these two refrigerants, also introduce specific charge to compare the refrigerant charge reduction of these two ones. The simulation results show that the variation trends among the heat capacity, refrigerant side' s pressure drop and refrigerant mass of R410a and R22 are similar, and R410a gets a higher heat capacity and lower pressure drop than R22. The two's specific charge vary with increasing temperature and mass of inlet air like upwards parabola, and R410a gets a lower value. In conclusion, R410a has similar characteristic under different operating condition with R22, and suitable to alternate R22 applied to air-conditioning system equipped with parallel-flow type condenser. Besides, R410a' s heat transfer performance, flow performance and refrigerant charge reduction are better than R22.
