Abstract

Optimization of the ejector mixing chamber plays an important role in design of the supersonic ejector. This paper introduces some experimental and numerical results of an experimental supersonic ejector under normal temperature conditions. Several factors affecting the ejecting performance are comparatively analyzed, including different lengths of the contraction, different diameters and lengths of the constant area section and different types of the ejector nozzle. Preliminary study shows that the supersonic ejector efficiency can be greatly improved by means of setting the multi-nozzle ejector. The small diameter of the constant area section can bring good ejecting performance. The length of the contraction affects the mixing performance of the active and passive flows. The length of the constant area section affects the start-up performance. So the design of the mixing chamber should be done according to the type of the ejector.
