摘要

Abstract

This study take ancient ginkgo trees in Hubei Province as the object, through data collection and field survey,the result shows that there are 11 431 ancient trees of Ginkgo biloba L. distributed in 15 cities (district) , 57couties( county-level cities, district) and 123 townships (towns). There are 346 ancient ginkgo trees of which female trees accounted for 91. 52% have growth indexes. The maximum tree height is 50.0 m,the minimum is 6.0 m;the longest tree age is 3000 years; the maximum DBH is 5.25 m( base diameter) , the minimum is only 0.35 m; the maximum of average crown is 37.0 m, while the minimum is 4. 5 m. There are 19 chichi ginkgo trees of which the maximum number of chichies is 84 of the single plant and the biggest chichi is as long as 80 cm;There are 31 mult-trunk ginkgoes of which the maximum number of mult-trunks is 40 of the single plant and the DBH of the biggest mult-trunk is 1.78 m.
