Abstract

Objective To investigate the frequency of DNA enzyme I gene polymorphism in Uygurs with acute myocardial infarction and its' association with blood glucose and lipid. Methods 157 cases of acute myocardial infarction patients and 148 cases of healthy controls were selected during the same period. Blood samples of all the 305 Uygurs in Xinjiang were collected. Genomic DNA were extracted from all blood samples, PCR-LDR reaction was employed to detect the A2317G (rsl053874) mutation of Deoxyribonuclease I gene,genotype and allele distribution were analyzed. Meantime,blood glucose and lipid were measured in fasting state by biochemical methods. Results The distribution frequencies of both the genotypes and alleles were significantly different between the control and AMI group. Genotypes of A2317G were not associated with serum total cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (P>0.05), but were closely related with fasting glucose (P<0. 05). Conclusion The polymorphism of DNA enzyme I gene had a certain relationship with the susceptibility of acute myocardial infarction in Uygurs in Xinjiang. Genotypes of A2317G were not associated with blood lipid,but were closely related with fasting glucose.
