Abstract
The flooding of S-type packing in a plexiglass tower with a diameter of 0.5 m and a packing height of 1 m was studied with air and water as the media under normal pressure and temperature. The flooding gas velocity of the S-type packing was compared with those of CY type and SQ-type structured packings. The results showed that the flooding gas velocity of the S-type packing was 20.77% and 15.34% larger than those of the CY-800 and SQ-SOO, respectively. A model for the flooding gas velocity of the S-type packing was obtained according to the hydraulics principle for the fluid in the structured packing layer, and used to predict the flooding points of the three kinds of the structured packings. The maximum relative deviation and average relative deviation of the calculation results are less than 3.09% and 2.29%, respectively.关键词
