Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of probiotics on intestinal flora and immune function in postoperative colorectal cancer patients with spleen deficiency. Methods Sixty postoperative colorectal cancer patients, diagnosed as spleen deficiency according to Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM ) , were randomized into probiotics ( Bifico) , traditional Chinese drug and control groups. Patients in all groups were treated with chemotherapy. In addition, for 4 weeks, patients in probiotics group received probiotics (Bifico) plus traditional Chinese drugs, and patients in TCM group received traditional Chinese drugs. In control group patients had no additional treatment. After the treatment, intestinal flora, SIgA in feces and T lymphocytes were evaluated. Results CD4 + , CD3 + T lymphocytes, CD4 + /CD8 + ratio, and SIgA in feces were higher in probiotics group than those in the other groups (P < 0. 05). There were significant differences in Bifidobacterium and Bifidobacterium/Escherichia coli ratio among three groups(P <0. 05 ). Conclusion Probiotics combined with traditional Chinese drugs have better therapeutic effect than traditional Chinese drug used alone in postoperative colorectal cancer patients with spleen deficiency.关键词
