Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of high temperature requirement A1 (HtrA1) in serum and placenta of normal pregnancy. Methods We consecutively measured serum HtrA1 level in 1812 cases of normal pregnancy by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method and detected the expression of HtrA1 at different stages of normal placenta (including 15 early-stage pregnancy, 10 midtrimester pregnancy and 18 late-stage pregnancy) by immunohistochemical SABC method. Results Normal serum HtrA1 showed a lognormal distribution; it gradually increased with gestational week and reached the peak value in weeks 17-20. With progression of gestational week, HtrA1 expression in the placenta increased, and there was a negative correlation between the mean grey value and the expression. In the early-stagc, mid-stage and late-stage pregnancy, the average gray value was 156.28 ± 3.12, 153.37 ± 2.54 and 148.69 ± 2.31, respectively (P<0.05). Conclusion HtrA1 is related to normal placental development and may be involved in the formation of the placenta at different stages with different mechanism.关键词
