A simple and compact ultra-wideband monopole antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented. The overall size of the antenna is 23 mm×25 mm×1 mm, which consists of a ground plane with trapezium-shaped slot and a mush-room-shaped radiating patch printed on the same side of the substrate.
