Stress Analysis of LPG Spherical Tank on Multiple Differential Settled Ground

Abstract
The stress of a LPG spherical tank on multiple differential settled ground was calculated and analyzed by finite element method. The results show that the differential settlement produced a less affect on the shell,but a greater impact on the pillars. The supporting loads or stress on each pillars are unequitable while a spherical tank is on multiple differential settled ground. The pillars with less differential settlement bear more loads while others bear less. Pre - stress have been produced on the pillars by the weight of the tank before filling the LPG, compressive stress were produced by the weight of LPG when the tank was filled and the combined stress were redistributed. The results show that some of the pillars have the possibilities of instability.关键词
