Abstract
Objective To evaluate the expression levels of serum interleukin-17 ( IL-17 ), leukotriene B4 ( LTB4 ) in children with bronchial asthma. Methods 62 children with acute asthma were selected as acute attack group, and 37 children were selected as remission group from relieve after treatment of the acute asthma. We also selected 30 children as healthy control. PMN was determined with automatic blood analyzer, and Thl7 cells were measured with flow cytometry. And the level of serum IL-17 and LTB4 were determined by ELISA. Results The levels of IL-17 and LTB4 in the acute attack group were higher than those in the remission group and the healthy control ( P <0. 05 ). There were no significant differences of the serum IL-17 and LTB4 between remission group and healthy control ( P >0.05 ). There was no significant difference of total peripheral white cell count ( P >0. 05 ), but there were significant differences of PMN, Th17 cells and lymphocyte between the acute attack group and the two control groups ( P <0. 05 ). The correlation analysis shows that the level of IL-17 was positively correlated to LTB4 in asthmatic children( r =0.934, P <0.05 ). And there were positive correlations between the serum IL-17, LTB4and PMN,Th17 cells( r =0.398, P <0.05;r =0.391, P <0.05;r =0.856,P <0.05;r =0.759, P < 0.01 ). Conclusion It demonstrated that the Th17 cells, IL-17, PMN and LTB4 played important roles in the pathogenesis of asthma关键词
