Abstract

Jacket platform suffers the wind, waves, earthquake and other lateral loads; while the stability of platform has strict requirements for pile foundations. Therefore, studies of the behavior and deformation mechanism of pile foundation under lateral loads are of great significance. A new test system has been developed to simulate the response of pile foundations subjected to lateral loads. The system consists of a jacket platform test model subsystem, an electric servo loading subsystem, a sensor and data acquisition subsystem, and a vibration test subsystem. It can be used to study the deformation mechanism of pile foundations, the response of soil around pile foundations and the vibration characteristics of jacket platform subjected to lateral impact, static and cyclic loads. The test results show that the system can simulate pile-soil interaction and vibration characteristics of jacket platform effectively.
