Abstract

1 043 fecal samples were collected from seven areas in Henan province,Hefei in Anhui province,Yunyang in Chongqing province, Eling in Qinghai province and Hohhot in Inner Mongolia province and examined for the presence of oocysts or eggs using the centrifugation method, the Lugol's iodine-solution staining method and the Sheather's sugar flotation technique. Nine intestinal parasite species were discovered and the overall infection rate was 95.9%.The Coccidian was found with the highest infection rate of 90.8%,with the EPG reaching to 277 600.The infection rates of Strongylus spp.and Entamoeba were 53.3% and 60.4% respectively, the EPG of Strongylus spp.was 67 800. The iniechon ratess of Cryptosporidium,Giardia,Trichuris, Nema-todirus ,Moniezia and Dicrocoelium dendriticum were 1.5% , 5.4%, 16.7%, 2.6%, 3.4% and 0.7% respectively.77.6% of positive samples were mixed infection, with the highest mixed in- fection reaching to six various species. The infection rates were 95.2% and 96.4% for under 1-year-old and more than 1-year-old goats, respectively. The infection rates of parasites were 97.8% and 93.2% in drylot feeding sheep and grazing sheep, respectively. In summer and autumn there was a higher prevalence of parasites than in winter and spring. Thus,the general measures for the control and prevention needed to be strengthened.
