摘要

Abstract

The ±800 kV/4 750 A ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) converter valve with independent intellectual property rights has passed type test. The saturated reactor is one of the series protection components for thyrislors In HVDC converter valve. Further studies on saluraled reaclors are important for UHVDC converter valve reliability improvement. The tum-on process and electrical stresses of Ihyristors are studied under non-periodic firing condition. The impacts of several electrical parameters, such as iron core inductance and dynamic characteristic of equivalent eddy current resistance, on saturated reactor tum-on stress are analyzed. Based on the coordination between the saturated reactor and the converter valve, an electrical design method for saturated reactor is proposed. Simulation results prove that the proposed saturated reactor can protect the thyristor and restrict both its peak inrush current and current variation within withstand limits under non-periodic firing condition.
