Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship among empathy, helping tendency and personality, as well as the moderating effect of personality. Methods: 269 college students were tested with Interpersonal Reactivity Index-C(IRI-C), helping tendency questionnaire and the scale E and N of the Revised Eysenck Questionnaire Short Scale for China. Re-sults: ①In general, extraversion(E) and neuroticism(N) weren' t correlated with empathy and helping tendency significant-ly; empathy was correlated with helping tendency significantly. ②Hierarchical Regression Analysis confirmed that empathy influenced helping tendency with the moderating effect of extraversion(E) (P<0.05), while the moderating effect of neuroti-cism(N) wasn' t significant. Conclusion: E moderates the relationship between empathy and helping tendency.关键词
