Abstract

Objective: To discuss the effects of bodybuilding training on self-confidence and mental health of weak fit-ness male college students. Methods: 56 weak fitness male college students were observed the changes of every training item, the degree of self-confidence and mental health in different periods of training. Results: After 8 weeks of training, there is a great improvement in power of physical quality, physiological function and BMI compared with that before train-ing. After 8 or 12 weeks of training, there was significant difference (P<0.05 or P<0.01) in self-confidence such as overall confidence, social confidence, body confidence and confidence total scores, most of the mental health factor score and mental health total score. Conclusion: Bodybuilding trainings have a positive role to improve the level of self-confidence and mental health for weak fitness college students.
