Abstract
Objective To discuss the effectiveness of revision endoscopic sinus surgery for recurrent nasal polyps. Methods 28 patients of recurrent nasal polyps have undergone revision endoscopic sinus surgery in our hospital. The Messerklinger technique is used in the surgery. Appropriate treatment is employed according to the CT films and the patient's situation in the surgery. Results In the six to twelve months of follow-up exam and evaluation period, 11 patients have been cured, 9 improved, 8 were reported futile. The total cure rate is 75%, with one patient reported to be complicated by periorbital hematoma. Conclusion The revision endoscopic sinus surgery has very good effect for recurrent nasal polyps, but the effect is not that good for nasal polyps. The guideline in the surgery is middle turbinate residual root and postnarial dome. A thorough CT scanning before the surgery can well reduce complications.关键词
