Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the effectiveness of transurethral photoselective vaporization for radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis. [Methods] Transurethral photoselective vaporization was performed in 5 patients with radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis after completion of radiotherapy for pelvic malignancies. [Results] The hematuria was relieved significantly in 2 hours and disappeared in 3 days after the operation. Four patients had no severe hematuria during 6 to 36 months follow-up. One patient hematuria recurred three months after operation and recovered after receiving retreatment. Pollakisuria, urgency and urodynia disappeared gradually in all patients. [Conclusion] Transurethral photoselective vaporization is an effective therapeutic measure for radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis.关键词
