Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effects of pathway health education to patients with chronic renal failure ( CFR) during hemodialysis induction period. Methods A total of 107 CRF patients who were in their hemodialysis induction period between January 2010 and August 2011 in Luzhou People's Hospital and Luzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were included in the study. The subjects were divided into a study group (52) and a control group (55) according to their hospital admission number (even or odd). The study group was provided with pathway health education, and the control group was given conventional care. Baseline data, creatinine clearance, levels of serum creatinine, hemoglobin and albumin, anxiety and compliance at the start of hemodialysis, one month later, and three months later were compared. Results No significant difference was observed in age, sex, education level, serum creatinine level and creatinine clearance at baseline betweeli the two groups ( P > 0. 05 ) . After one month of dialysis, anxiety scores showed difference between the two groups ( P < 0. 05 ). After three months of dialysis, creatinine clearance, levels of serum creatinine, hemoglobin and albumin, and compliance were significantly different between the two groups (P < 0. 05) . Conclusion Pathway health education during hemodialysis induction period can lead CRF patients to timely and effective dialysis, and can improve the patients' quality of life.关键词
