Abstract
Objective To evaluate the exact pathology on postmenopausal women with abnormal endometrial thickening and to make strategy of treatment. Methods 184 asymptomatic postmenopausal women, undergoing hysteroscopy examination, and 99 postmenopausal vaginal bleeding women with abnormal endometrial thickening in transvaginal ultrasound scanning were collected for clinical and pathologic analysis between January 2008 and November 2010 in Changning Area Maternal and Infant Health Hospital. Results Among 184 asymptomatic postmenopausal women with endometrial thickening, there were 119 women with endometrial polyps, 17 women with submucosal fibroids, 16 women with normal histolog-ical findings,9 women with cancer. Among99 postmenopausal bleeding women with endometrial thickening,there were 28 women with endometrial polyps,4 women with submucosal fibroids, 18 women with normal histological findings,37 women with cancer. Conclusion Asymptomatic postmenopausal patients with endometrial thickening detected by hysteroscopy lesions positive rate to 90%, mainly to endometrial polyps. Hysteroscopy is the preferred method to discovery of asymptomatic patients with endometrial thickening.关键词
