摘要

Abstract

Essential oils are generally good anti-microbial materials. Thyme (Thymus mongolicus), also known as Garden Thyme, is a traditional kitchen herb, used to be flavor food. Extracts of thyme and its essential oil is strongly antiseptic, antifungal, antiparasitic, and anti -oxidant, working against a broad range of microbes, without residual resistance, and drug resistance. It is able to provide aquaculture industry with guarantee for producing nutritious, safe and healthy products. The article overviewed the antimicrobial effect of thyme essential oil, and looked into its future outlook of its utilization on animals.
