Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the status quo and tendency of the utilization of oral hypoglycemic agents(OHAs) in hospitals of Shanghai area. METHODS: By retrospective analysis, the utilization of OHAs in 119 hospitals of Shanghai area during the period of 2008 — 2011 was analyzed statistically in respect of categories of drugs, consumption sum, DDDs and DDC. RESULTS : The consumption sum of OHAs increased year by year in Shanghai area, with the growth rate slowing down. The top 4 OHAs in the list of consumption sum were acarbose, metformin, gliclazide and repaglinide, the sum of which accounting for 58.67% of the total in 4 years. In terms of DDDs, gliclazide, metformin, glipizide and acarbose ranked top 4. And glipizide, gliclazide and metformin had the lower DDC. CONCLUSION: The application of OHAs in Shanghai area is rational basically. The OHAs with high efficiency, good safety and tolerability are welcomed in the clinic.关键词
