Impacts of Filler Properties on Sizing Efficiency of the Filled Paper

Abstract
In this paper, the impacts of filler properties including particle size and specific surface area, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity, particle morphology, alkalinity of fillers, and reactions between fillers and sizing agents on sizing results of the filled paper were discussed. The progress and current research efforts targeting the sizing problems in filled paper, which include the technology of surface sizing and modification of various fillers, development of new types of filler, synergetic use of various chemical additives, and the optimization of addition points of sizing agents and fillers, were also summarized.关键词
