Real-Time Detection Method of the First Bubble Images in Magnesium Melt

Abstract
The precision of hydrogen measuring instrument in magnesium melt based on the first bubble method intensively relies on precise discrimination of the first bubble precipitated on the surface in magnesium melt. This paper has proposed a new method of the real-time detection under fluctuant background. At first, the wavelet transforms were adopted to suppress background, and the invariable background was eliminated by improved interval difference. Then adaptive thresholds and morphological opening operation were used to get candidate targets. At last, the real target could be obtained by using logical and operation. The experimental results indicate that the algorithm can effectively overcome the interferences of strong noise and fluctuant background, and the detection probability of the target is 100%, which provides a new way for the real-time detection of hydrogen content in magnesium melt based on the images.关键词
