Abstract

In AGPS system, an AGPS server is needed to provide the assisted informa- tion to the terminals. A basic AGPS server used for terminal development is implemented in this article. The network frame and interfaces of the AGPS server are analyzed firstly; also, the output message format is specified based on the international protocol and the algorithm. Then the preliminary solution of the server is implemented with the C ;~ program language in the Visual Studio 2005 program environment. To solve the problems occurred, the solution was changed: instead of receiving and processing the assisted information after being reques- ted, in the new design, the assisted information was receiving, processing and transmit in re al time. This final solution implemented serial port and internet communication, also accom- plished point to point and point to multipoint data transmission. The test results indicate that the solution of AGPS server has a high level of stabilization and credibility. The mes- sage format and the realization of software design can assist the terminals effectively.
