A Model for Low/Hard States Associated with Jets in Black Hole X-Ray Binaries

Abstract
A model for the low/hard (LH) state associated with a quasi-steady jet in black hole X-ray binaries (BHXBs) is proposed, and a scenario of transition from hard to soft states is suggested. Combining disk-corona model with open magnetic fields trapped in magnetic patches on the disk, we fit the spectral profiles of the low/hard state for five BHXBs, and fit the relation between the jet power and the X-ray luminosity numerically in the LH state by adjusting accretion rate and the outer boundary of the corona over the disk. We propose a scenario of state transitions of BHXBs, in which a correlation of magnetic field with the transition from hard to soft states is discussed.关键词
